Blackburn Rovers midfielder Lewis Holtby made sure he wasn't Darnell Fisher's latest victim, by making sure he was protected against the Preston North End player.

On Saturday evening Fisher went viral for all the wrong reasons after Preston's 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday, in the Championship.

The 26-year-old was spotted grabbing Wednesday's Callum Paterson by the balls when marking him at a corner, taking two bites of the cherry.

The FA are investigating the incident but Fisher is still able to play at the moment, and he started against fellow Lancashire side Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday night.

Rovers midfielder Holtby had a bit of a laugh at his opponents expense as he covered himself when Fisher walked past, although it's also the smart decision.

It was certainly a better night for Holtby and his teammates than it was for Fisher and his, with the visitors running out 3-0 winners.

Joe Rafferty was sent off just before half time, with Adam Armstrong scoring from the spot in injury time as a result.

BBreretonton made it unlikely that North End would get anything out of the game by making it 2-0 just eight minutes into the second half.

Tyrhys Dolan rounded off the scoring in the 76th minute before Tony Mowbray's side saw out the game to overtake their rivals in the league.

It certainly wasn't a good night for Fisher, and things could still get worse if the FA decide to punish him for his foul play at the weekend.
