Eric Bailly's future at Manchester United has been thrown into doubt, with reports claiming he was 'furious' with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this week and will reject a new contract.

It was reported a few weeks ago that Bailly had entered into contract talks at Old Trafford but things have taken a turn for the worst with his relationship with the manager.

Bailly was missing from the squad on Thursday night, as United progressed to the Europa League quarter finals with a win over AC Milan, thanks to Paul Pogba's second half goal.

It was thought that the Ivorian was missing through his latest injury but, according to a 'dressing room insider,' the 26-year-old has become 'frustrated' with his lack of opportunities and Thursday was the latest incident.

"Eric has had enough now," a source told the Sun, "He simply doesn't feel wanted or respected by the manager.

"Eric doesn't believe he gets any answers or explanation about the way he is treated and feels he is the easy option to leave out.

"It's a real shame because Eric always tells us he loves the club and feels the respect of the fans.

"But it's got to the point this week where he has to think about his future."

According to the report, the former Villarreal defender's issues started in the Europa League last season, when he was left out of the semi-final game against Sevilla.

Bailly had played in previous rounds but Solskjaer went back to his first choice centre back partnership of Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof, with United going on to lose.

The report also claims that the defender is annoyed at the suggestion he is injury prone, though he has missed 13 games because he was on the treatment table already this season.

Centre back has remained a problem for Solskjaer throughout his time as United manager, with Maguire and Lindelof often coming in for criticism.

The pair have improved in recent week, with Maguire especially getting a lot of praise for performances, and the team have conceded just three goals in their previous 11 games in all competitions.

Solskjaer does reportedly want to sign a new centre back in the summer and Bailly would likely be knocked further down the pecking order.
