Fred's partnership with Casemiro has been very successful for Brazil

Fred's partnership with Casemiro has been very successful for Brazil

The Man Utd midfielder and his future teammate have done pretty well for their national team together.

Casemiro could soon be linking up with fellow Brazilian Fred at Manchester United, and the pair have an excellent partnership for their national team.

It's all but certain that Casemiro will sign for United sometime next week, after the club confirmed the transfer 'in principal' on Friday, and are now just waiting for international clearance and the like.

Luka Modric and Toni Kroos have already said goodbye to the midfield partner they've won five Champions League titles alongside, and even a plea from another player's girlfriend isn't going to keep him at the Bernabeu.

Now instead of challenging for another European title, the 30-year-old will be playing in the Europa League, something Carlo Ancelotti is all to aware of.

At least whilst the midfielder is giving up one strong partnership he's actually joining up with another, in the shape of the often maligned Fred.

Whilst the former Shakhtar player might not have the best reputation in England, he's regularly part of the Brazil set up, and very successful when paired with Casemiro.

In fact, in 20 games together for Brazil, there has only been one loss for the pair, whilst they've won 18 times and the team have scored 41 times, conceded five and kept 15 clean sheets in that spell.

Having a partnership ready made with Casemiro could be a huge relief to Fred, as he attempts to keep his place in United's team.

There has been talk that the Glazers could be bought out at Old Trafford, with fans once again ready to protest the American's ownership of the club, despite the potential of new signings.

Should they sell, then Britain's richest man, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, would be one of the favourites to buy the club, or at least lead any consortium for a buyout.

Ratcliffe is a United fan from his childhood and the Ineos boss is clearly not a fan of Fred, having previously said signing him was proof of the 'dumb money' they've spend in recent years.

United will certainly be hoping that they can improve their own win/loss record this season, having come away empty handed from the opening two games of the season.

They now sit bottom of the Premier League and have Liverpool visiting Old Trafford on Monday, although they'll actually go above Jurgen Klopp's side if they win.

With Casemiro's move all be confirmed, Erik ten Hag could next move to make additions to his attacking line up, with Cristiano Ronaldo still desperate to leave.

The club have been linked with several forwards this summer with no success, there are reports they are determined to bring in Antony from Ajax, although PSV's Cody Gakpo has also been linked.

Whatever happens, it's sure to be an interesting final 10 days of the transfer window for United.
