Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has accepted a three match-ban by the FA for his outburst during the club's 3-1 defeat to Manchester United, and apologised to the referee.
The 28-year-old Serbia international was handed a straight red card by Craig Kavanagh after he placed his hands on the Ashton-born official during his sides' FA Cup quarter-final clash at Old Trafford.
Mitrovic appeared furious by Kavanagh's decision to send off both his manager, Marco Silva, and teammate Willian, and had to be pulled away from the scene by his Fulham teammates.

Following the incident, some had called for the striker to be banned for 10 games, and others wanted him not to return until the end of the season.

After United were charged with failing to keep their players in order, fans wondered what that could mean for the length of Mitrovic's ban.
However, it appears that he is only facing the minimum three game ban, that his actions carry, after the former Newcastle United forward put out a statement apologising to Kavanagh for his actions.
"I have accepted the three-match ban for my red card, I have spoken to Chris Kavanagh to apologise, and I have volunteered to accept a Club fine," the statement read.
In reaction to the three games has caused the ire of fans of Erik ten Hag's side, with many pointing out that Casemiro is currently out for four games.

The Brazilian was sent off in the 0-0 draw with Southampton in the Premier League, despite initially touching the ball, and will miss the weekend's game with Newcastle, as well as games with Brentford and Everton.
"Casemiro’s currently serving a four match ban for a tackle where he actually got the ball first, meanwhile Mitrovic gets a three match ban for his attack on the referee it’s a funny old game," one fan pointed out.
"Straight red for winning the ball," said a second.
Another claimed double standards, adding, "You know if that was a United player he would be banned for a full season with a further retrospective ban the following season."

"Truly scandalous," opined a fourth.
On the three game ban, another posted, "That's ludicrous, might as well start grabbing referees if the ban is that lenient."
Casemiro's suspension was only so long because it was his second sending off of the season, after the red card he got in the game against Crystal Palace earlier in the year.
It might well be more than three games however, with BBC Sport's Simon Stone explaining the 28-year-old could still find himself banned for longer, with the three matches only covering the red card.

The charges he is facing cover the severity of the issue and the aftermath, in which players from both teams came together, other than Kenny Tete and Luke Shaw, who just enjoyed life together.
The FA will have the chance to add more games to the ban, but have to go through the whole process, which could include an appeal by the player.
As well as missing games with Bournemouth, West Ham and Everton, the striker may have actually cost himself a move to Old Trafford in the summer.
