The most 'triffic news we've heard in weeks is Harry Redknapp going into the 'I'm A Celebrity' jungle but the former Spurs boss has revealed that Niko Kranjcar won't be joining him, which is a huge shame.

Last week the news came out that this year's helping of celebrities stranded in a jungle in Australia being tortured by the public and some television executives will be joined by Harry Redknapp.

That's good news for every football fan as we tune in to find out just exactly how he trades a leaf or bug he's found on the ground for a fellow camp mate's luxury item in his typical wheeler dealer fashion and how will ITV manage to interview him from a car window with no cars about.

The news was met with some brilliant jokes about Harry and his favourite son Niko Kranjaer, the midfielder who seemed to follow the manager everywhere.

But now we know that the man who played for Redknapp at Portsmouth, Spurs and QPR won't be joining the former Pompey boss in Australia.

BT Sports presenter Jake Humphrey revealed a text conversation he had with 'Arry that confirmed it'll be Peter Crouch who joins him in the Jungle instead:

Lord knows how the Stoke City striker would find a bed big enough to sleep in but watching him do the robot after winning some gold stars would be good value television no doubt.

Redknapp will join a long list of former sports stars who have been on the programme should he appear jumping out of a helicopter into a jungle later this year.

Amir Khan was in the jungle last year before he made his comeback into the boxing ring and was joined by former Chelsea and Wimbledon midfielder Dennis Wise.

Former England cricketer Phil Tufnell won a series of the reality show with ex footballer John Fashanu behind him in second place.

Carl Fogarty won another series whilst Martina Navratilova, Jimmy White, David Haye and Fatima Whitbread all finished in the top three.

Redknapp has a long heritage to live up to, let's just hope the ride is a triffic one.
