If you employ Joey Barton then at some point you're expecting some sort of fireworks and clearly Fleetwood Town are hoping for some as they are trying to turn his first year in management into a documentary.

Joey Barton's entire playing career was littered with controversy, whether it was being sent off at half time for Manchester City, attacking City players after being sent off for QPR, attacking his own teammate on the training ground or stubbing a cigarette out on a youth player, he couldn't just stay out of the headlines.

His time as a football player even ended in typical fashion after he was banned for 13 months after a charge relating to gambling on results.

Then Barton took the path that maybe none of us actually expected by becoming a manager. I've no doubt it would have been in his own plans but the fact he landed a job straight away was a bit of a surprise.

He's taken over at League One side Fleetwood Town and started with a win and a loss in the league with not that much exciting going on but Fleetwood are obviously expecting something good to happen.

According to the Daily Mail the club have mic'd up their new manager for much of his time in charge and hired a production team to record his first day on the training pitch in order to turn his first season into a documentary.

The club have also reportedly already held talks with Sky Sports and BBC whilst they are expected to meet with Netflix in the future over the possibility of buying the rights to the fly on the wall documentary.

The Cod Army are hoping that they could fetch up to £1 million for the rights to any film and it could take the form of five one hour shows.

Cameras have been with the club during training, the preseason tour of Hungary, team meetings and medicals for new players, including Ched Evans.

Barton hasn't had a microphone clipped to him during his games but there has been a boom mic and camera stationed right near the dugout.

The 35 year old has started his management career with one win and one loss in the league and on Tuesday night he led his team to a win on penalties against Crewe in the EFL Cup.
