Game Between Watford And Spurs Halted After Medical Emergency In Crowd At Vicarage Road

Game Between Watford And Spurs Halted After Medical Emergency In Crowd At Vicarage Road

The play was paused due to a medical emergency in the crowd.

A medical emergency in the crowd temporarily halted play during Saturday afternoon's Premier League clash between Watford and Tottenham.

In the 86th minute, a break of play was called at Vicarage Road as medical staff ran across the pitch to help the supporter in the Lower Graham Taylor Stand.

Several minutes later play resumed, with the medical emergency reportedly under control.

Spurs sent their best wishes to the supporter via their official Twitter account, as did Watford.

Back in October, Spurs defender Sergio Reguilon alerted referee Andre Marriner towards a medical emergency at St James' Park.

Eric Dier also sprinted to get a defibrillator taken over to the other side of the pitch by a medic.

The game was stopped and both sets of players were taken off the pitch while the individual received treatment in the East Stand.

Last month, the second half of Southampton's Premier League clash against Leicester City was delayed due to a medical emergency in the crowd.

On the same day, Watford's game with Chelsea was suspended due to a suspected cardiac arrest in the crowd.

Our thoughts are with the supporter from Saturday's tie at Vicarage Road.
