Gareth Bale could yet remain in La Liga after being offered to Spanish side Getafe.
Bale, 32, has confirmed he will leave Real Madrid when his contract expires at the Bernabeu at the end of the month.
There is no shortage of clubs interested in Bale after he helped Wales qualify for the 2022 World Cup with a play-off victory over Ukraine on Sunday.
Newcastle, Rangers and Celtic have all been linked with the forward, while a potential return to Wales with Cardiff City is another possibility.
A number of MLS sides are also said to be interested in the former Tottenham star.
But he could be set for a shock stay in Spanish football.
Getafe president Angel Torres claims Bale's agent, Jonathan Barnett, has offered him to the Spanish club, who are situated on the outskirts of Madrid.
"I spoke with Gareth Bale’s agent just 45 minutes ago, and they have offered him to us", Torres told journalist Alberto Fernandez.
"We will consider it and study the possibility with the sporting director and coaching staff," Torres added.
There were suggestions Bale might choose to retire if Wales failed to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar.
But speaking ahead of the win over Ukraine, Bale insisted that was not the case.
"Not necessarily no," said Bale.
"Like I've said before, I’m not concentrating on what lies ahead in the future. We have a massive game tomorrow that all my focus is on.
"I really don’t need to think or worry about anything else. I have no other worries."
When asked if he has offers on the table, Bale responded: "I've got loads!"
Getafe finished 15th in La Liga last season, just one point clear of the relegation zone.
They are managed by former Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores.
