Manchester United legend Gary Neville has outlined the ‘lose-lose’ situation that the Red Devils face if Marcus Rashford leaves Old Trafford in the summer.
Rashford has reportedly been ‘growing unhappy’ at his boyhood club after struggling for first-team minutes under United interim manager Ralf Rangnick.
The 24-year-old United forward, who looks set to be dropped from the upcoming England squad, has struggled for form and has fallen down the pecking order at the club.

Neville took to Twitter to break down the Rashford situation into three important points, with the Sky Sports pundit claiming it will be a “failure” for United if he leaves.
However, the 47-year-old former United right-back also believes Rashford must shoulder some of the blame if he can’t secure his place back in the team.

“2. A very poor look for MR if he can’t get his form right to break into this team.
“3. MR/Team [sic] would be naive if they think his off-pitch voice will carry without the MU badge.
“Lose/Lose if he goes. Sort it out!”
One fan responded to Neville’s initial tweet by claiming that United “had no influence” on how people felt towards Rashford’s heroic works off the pitch.

Responding to the tweet, Neville said: “It’s just a proven fact if you play for United you will gain more traction and reach with your voice. This isn’t just for Rashford. It’s for all of us that played for the club.”
United legend Rio Ferdinand reacted to Neville’s response with a straightforward tweet: “Facts.”
Rangnick has claimed that Rashford has told him he is “still happy” at United, but he added that the Red Devils star can decide on his future in the summer.

“He didn’t say anything to me. He said to me that he’s still happy and that he wants to perform on a high level here for the club,” he said.

Rangnick added: “It doesn’t [make] any sense to put any energy into that. I don’t think this is an issue and he never said anything about that when we spoke.
“The window is closed right now. Even in case he and his agents or his family think about going to another club, well he can do that but in the summer.”
