Gerard Pique's family lawyer reveals details of 'seven-month' custody negotiation with ex-partner Shakira

Gerard Pique's family lawyer reveals details of 'seven-month' custody negotiation with ex-partner Shakira

Pique and Shakira split earlier this year.

Details of Gerrard Pique and Shakira's divorce negations have been revealed by Pique's family lawyer, after the couple ended the 12-year relationship earlier this year.

The duo announced their split earlier this year, after claims that the ex-Barcelona favourite had cheated on the Colombian singer.

The pair have been embroiled in a legal battle regarding the custody of their two sons, Milan and Sasha, which included a '12-hour marathon meeting with lawyers' as reported by The Sun.

Details of the meetings have been revealed by La Vanguardia, who spoke with Pique's family lawyer, Ramon Tamborero:

"Both have shown great intelligence. They have made a great effort for the good of their children, so they were not the protagonists.

"The agreement was complex and required preparatory meetings. The decisive meeting before signing lasted thirteen hours."

Whilst the agreement was finalised following the marathon meeting, it had taken a "seven-month negotiation" to reach that stage according to Tamborero.

The final decision ruled that Shakira and her two sons would be entitled to move to Miami, whilst Pique has been granted permission to visit his sons for ten days a month.

It is reported that the agreement reached was one that was beneficial to both parties, who prioritised 'the sake of their children' over their personal differences.

Gerrard Pique has switched his attentions from the 11-a-side pitch to the 7-a-side pitch since retiring from professional football earlier this year, with his newly founded 'Kings League' taking the sport by storm.

Former Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero is among those to have featured in the competition, with the Argentine receiving 'offers from several clubs' should he opt for a return to professional football.

Ex Real Madrid ace Isco is rumoured to have been offered a deal to join the league - which will take to the Nou Camp later this year - following his release by Sevilla earlier this month.
