Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was abused and insulted as an argument broke out with an AC Milan fan after the Nations League match against England.
Italian news outlet Corriere della Sera reported that the Paris Saint Germain goalkeeper was insulted multiple times by the fan as he left Molineux after the 0-0 draw with England. Donnarumma then turned around to point at the fan and walked towards him, as he was in a group of fans who were waiting outside to ask for player autographs as they walked towards the team bus.
Initially, it seemed like Donnarumma had ignored the abuse from the fan but was visibly irritated after it continued, as a result he got into a small altercation with the fan, eventually the abuse stopped. After the incident, a member of the Italian national team hugged the PSG keeper, who dismissed the whole situation as ‘nonsense’.
Donnarumma came through the ranks at Milan but left the club last summer to join PSG after failing to agree a new contract with the San Siro club. He left as a free agent.

The keeper’s departure angered the ultras of the Milan club, and even though he was the hero in Italy’s Euro 2020 triumph, the ultras did not forget about Donnarumma’s move to PSG.
Following last summer’s tournament, the ultras revealed two banners aimed at the keeper, including the message: “Be careful, we don’t forget traitors.”
One banner said: “We don't forget traitors, be careful when you will be back in Milan.”
Another read: “Donnarumma ungrateful bast… you suck more than Leonardo.” Leonardo was a former Milan player then became the sporting director at the club, he then made the dreaded move from AC Milan to Inter Milan to be Inter's sporting director, hence the anger from the club ultras.
At the age of just 16, Donnarumma made his first team debut and was an instant hit, nailing down the number one spot. He made a total of 251 appearances for the club.

During his first season at PSG, the Italian only made 17 appearances in Ligue 1 as he is stuck behind long term first choice keeper, Keylor Navas.
Donnarumma will be looking to force his way into the manager's plan next season as he looks to take over from Navas and become the club's new first choice stopper.
