Kazakhstan Scored Straight From Kick Off And It's Very Nice

Kazakhstan Scored Straight From Kick Off And It's Very Nice

Unfortunately the goal was just a consolation for Kazakhstan and they remain rooted to the bottom of League C Group 4 in the Nations League.

Kazakhstan might not be known for their football prowess but there's a good chance Aybol Abiken scored the goal of the night on Sunday.

The eastern European side, or central Asian depending on how you look at it, were taking on Albania in the Nations League League C Group 4.

They fell behind to a 16th minute goal from Sokol Cikalleshi, before Ardian Ismajli doubled the lead for the hosts in the 23rd minute.

Albania then proved that you're never more vulnerable to conceding than when you've just scored, as they managed to concede straight from kick off.

Kazakh full back Abiken clearly spotted Albania keeper Etrit Berisha off his line and embarrassed the goalie by lofting the ball over his head and into the net, as Berisha sprawled back in vain to stop it.

In typical fashion Roy Keane was less than impressed with the keeping, rather than focusing on the genius of Abiken.

Unfortunately for the visitors the goal wasn't enough to spark a comeback in anyway and Rey Manaj scored from the penalty spot in the 62nd minute to secure all three points for Albania.

The win means that Albania could still leapfrog Belarus and take top spot, should they beat the current top side on Wednesday.

Kazakhstan meanwhile have to beat Lithuania on the same night to avoid the relegation play-offs in March 2022.

Only two sides from League C get relegated, as there's only two groups in League D, so the bottom four sides play each other in two play-offs, though they won't be for a while yet.

It's unlikely any Kazakhstan player will score a goal as good as Abiken's anytime soon though.
