Graeme Souness responds to offer for a drink with Jack Grealish and Paul Pogba

Graeme Souness responds to offer for a drink with Jack Grealish and Paul Pogba

Souness and Grealish have been involved in a back and forth, and the Man City forward wanted to get Pogba involved in their drinks date.

Graeme Souness has responded to Jack Grealish again, after the Manchester City forward agreed to going for a drink with the pundit, if he could bring Paul Pogba.

Grealish has been the subject of some criticism in recent months, for his form at City not living up to his £100 million price tag, or the form he showed at Aston Villa.

Even the City star was pretty honest about not scoring enough or providing enough assists, following the win over Wolverhampton Wanderers in which he did actually score, after just 55 seconds.

Teammate Kevin de Bruyne, and manager Pep Guardiola, have both defended the player, understandably, with the manager blaming the other City players for Grealish's poor numbers.

However, none of that has stopped the criticism, especially from Souness, who has previously claimed that the 27-year-old hasn't improved during his time at City.

That led the former Villa captain to hit back and claimed that the pundit, known for his controversial statements, has something 'personal' against him.

Souness in turn claimed that wasn't the case, and wanted to go for a drink with Grealish, who then said he's do it, if Pogba, the original player for Souness to have a vendetta against, could come with.

Now the 69-year-old has replied, in what is becoming like a back-and-forth flirting on Tinder, by saying that he'd welcome the Frenchman to come with.

"Great to see that Jack Grealish is up for a night out, which I said is something that I think I would enjoy very much," the Scotsman wrote in his Daily Mail column.

"I think he's replied to say 'let's do it', so long as he can bring along Paul Pogba as his +1.

"Well, that's very good to hear! You're on Jack.

"If I get to pick the venue and the wines, you bring along whoever you want. And by the way, you're picking up the bill!"

Pogba might be a little pre occupied to enjoy a drink with a man who spent there previous six years berating him at every turn, whether that was for his football or his haircut.

Even during the exchange with Grealish, the former Liverpool star managed to bring up the Juventus midfielder, playing to all the memes about the pair.

Pogba has not been able to make his first appearance since re-signing with Juve this summer, due to injury, and is facing a race to be fit for the World Cup in November.

Whilst that's stopped him getting on the pitch, off the pitch he's having to deal with blackmail and some extraordinary claims from his brother.

Mathias Pogba has suggested the former United star has hired a witch doctor to curse opponents and even fellow countryman Kylian Mbappe.
