'Absolute gulf in class' - Fans know where the game was lost for Liverpool after another humiliation

Liverpool suffered a heavy defeat at Manchester City.

Fans think they know where the game was lost for Liverpool as they suffered a crushing 4-1 defeat at Manchester City.

The visitors took the lead through Mohamed Salah, who fired home a brilliant left-footed strike in the 17th minute.

But the defending Premier League champions responded in style as they levelled when Julian Alvarez completed a tidy move, before running riot in the second-half.

Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and Jack Grealish all found the back of the net to secure three big points in the title race.

And it was Grealish's goal that opened the eyes of fans online as they slammed Trent Alexander-Arnold's showing at the Etihad.

For Man City's fourth goal, he inexplicably didn't track the England forward's run before scoring.

Grealish dominated his duel with his fellow England international as people online believe that's where Liverpool lost the clash.

One Twitter user wrote: "Grealish has had Trent off since minute 1. Absolute gulf in class."

A second tweeted: "Get Trent off as well, don't care who is on the bench they can't be as bad as Trent has been. Just watch Trent tracking Grealish run, absolute joke that."

A third added: "Just criminal defending from Trent that. Doesnโ€™t even bother tracking Grealishโ€™s run, leaving him completely free in the box."

A fourth said: "Trent used all his energy on that pointless solo press and let Jack Grealish jog off him for 4-1."

Another commented: "Grealish has absolutely flogged Trent this game my goodness."

The win moves the Blues to 64 points, five points adrift of league leaders Arsenal, who resume their campaign against Leeds United.
