German Giants Eye Up January Move For Hakim Ziyech, Winger 'Not Satisfied' With Chelsea Game Time

German Giants Eye Up January Move For Hakim Ziyech, Winger 'Not Satisfied' With Chelsea Game Time

Ziyech has started just five Premier League games this season.

Borussia Dortmund are eyeing up a January move for Hakim Ziyech with the Chelsea winger reportedly unhappy with his lack of game time at Stamford Bridge.

Ziyech, 28, joined Chelsea in a £33m move from Ajax in the summer of 2020 but has failed to nail down a regular place in the side under Thomas Tuchel.

The Morocco international has started just five games in the Premier League this season, scoring once, and is now being linked with a move away from England.

German newspaper Sport Bild claim Dortmund are interested in signing Ziyech in the January window.

However, any deal is likely to be in the form of a loan if it is agreed next month.

Barcelona have also been linked with a move for Ziyech, who scored 49 goals in 165 games during his spell with Ajax.

Speaking about the winger last month, Chelsea boss Tuchel said: “I think there is space to improve in his decision making, connections on the pitch, where to be more consistent.

“We always rely on his work rate, counter pressing and awareness. It is a huge part of his performances.

"He can still be more clinical and maybe grow more into the rhythm, but I think his shoulder injury hurt him a lot.”

Ziyech played the full 90 minutes on Thursday as Chelsea were held to a damaging 1-1 draw at home by a depleted Everton side.

Mason Mount had put Chelsea in the lead before Jarrad Branthwaite equalised for the Toffees.

The draw could prove to be costly for Chelsea in the Premier League title race.

They are now third in the league, four points behind leaders Manchester City and three behind second-place Liverpool.
