Harry Kane had a goal disallowed for Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday afternoon, after VAR took away his strike for the tightest offside call.

It's not been a particularly profitable season in the Premier League so far for Kane, with his goal against Liverpool in their brilliant 2-2 draw just over a week ago only his second in the league, and the strike against Crystal Palace on Boxing Day making it three.
On Tuesday, the England captain was back amongst the goals as he equalised in the game against Southampton from the spot, following James Ward-Prowse's opener.
Kane then thought he'd put Spurs ahead early in the second half, after Harry Winks' brilliant over the top pass, only for VAR to rule it out because of an offside, but it couldn't have been closer.
How close can you get? 😲

Harry Kane thought he'd put his team in front, but is disallowed by VAR for offside!#PLonPrime #SOUTOT pic.twitter.com/O3rYL4vsSx
Was quite surprised that got disallowed. It looked onside both in real time and even on the one replay we got on the monitor here.

Harry Kane is NOT offside. VAR proving how bad it is yet again. 🤬 pic.twitter.com/3U1V94XOgk

Games gone if that’s offside

Completely ruining our game this. We pay for goals. This should not be off.

That’s literally a perfectly timed run. Given what the offside rule is actually for these right calls are actually dumb as fuck https://t.co/f94OA4EVmn

Good to see they've cracked VAR and it works seamlessly now and doesn't effect the live atmosphere, flow of the game, and magic of the celebration https://t.co/IZYGBl5P48

Why is it measured on Kane's arm but not the defenders? https://t.co/eUpnnXlt3E

I thought these marginal, armpit offsides had been cut out? That Kane goal should not be disallowed

Kane offside by a millipedes dick - how on earth is that offside? pic.twitter.com/9Bx2ZdgHDE

Fans were hoping that the marginal offsides given by VAR would disappear this season, with the introduction of new rules that came into play in August.
That hasn't been the case based on Tuesday's example though.
