Harry Kane Explains Why Arrival Of Haaland And Nunez Will Actually Help Spurs

​Harry Kane says the arrivals of Erling Haaland and Darwin Nunez will 'drive' him on as a player and is relishing the opportunity to fight for the Premier League Golden Boot next season.   

Manchester City have officially confirmed the signing of Erling Haaland while Liverpool are on the verge of completing a deal for Nunez. 

The arrivals of Haaland and Nunez only strengthens the firepower in England's top flight and adds two fresh contenders to the already stacked Premier League Golden Boot race.

Kane, who has won three Premier League Golden Boot awards in his Tottenham career, expressed his excitement about going head-to-head with the new boys in what he described will be a 'tough battle'. 

He also revealed that the new signings will 'drive' him on as a player.

Speaking ahead of England's Nations League clash against Hungary, he said: "The battle for the Golden Boot is always tough, the Premier League has produced some top strikers around the world for a number of years now.

"Every season I’ve been playing it’s always been a tough battle."

The 28-year-old added: "You expect the top strikers to want to play in the Premier League and with those two new signings it’s going to be the case.

"It helps me as a player to have good competition, it drives me to improve and get better so, for sure, I’m looking forward to the challenge."

Haaland moves to Man City having scored a staggering 86 goals in 89 appearances across all competitions for Borussia Dortmund.  

As for Nunez, he bagged an impressive 34 goals in 41 games last season for Benfica.

Kane, meanwhile, netted 17 league goals last season as his teammate Son Heung-min won the Premier League Golden Boot (shared with Mohamed Salah).
