Huge amount of Chelsea fans sign petition to stop Anthony Taylor refereeing them again

The referee was blamed for both of Tottenham Hotspur's goals as they came back from behind twice to draw with Chelsea and fans are angry.

Over 46,000 Chelsea fans have signed a petition to stop Anthony Taylor from refereeing their games in the future, after his performance in the game against Tottenham Hotspur.

Thomas Tuchel was certainly not happy with Taylor's performance as Tottenham Hotspur twice came from behind to draw 2-2 with Chelsea.

The Blues went ahead in the first half through Kalidou Koulibaly's excellent finish but failed to take advantage of their dominance of the match.

That came back to haunt them as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg struck home in the 68th minute, but there was controversy as the hosts felt Kai Havertz was fouled early on in the build up.

Not only that but Richarlison, on for his debut, was in an offside position and some felt the forward impeded the view of goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.

The second equaliser, after Reece James had made it 2-1, came late in injury time from Harry Kane, but not before Cristian Romero appeared to pull Marc Curucella's hair, which VAR did nothing about.

Now Chelsea fans have showed their disdain for the decisions made by referee Taylor by creating and signing a petition on Change.org to stop him from officiating their games in future.

In the description the petition said, "Anthony Taylor has continued to make big decisions against Chelsea over the years in big matches. Taylor has an agenda against Chelsea and should not be allowed to referee a game involving the club again."

They then listed eight decisions made by Taylor that have gone against their team in the past, including those from Sunday's game.

It is not the first time that the Stamford Bridge faithful have complained about the 43-year-old, with a thread of previous decisions going viral in the past.

Tuchel was also unhappy with the Manchester born official's decision to send both him and Antonio Conte off at full time, after the pair had clashed several times.

Fans of the west London club have not been the only ones unhappy with the referee in the past, with Liverpool supporters also not hugely into Taylor being in charge of their games.

Despite being from Manchester, the referee is known to support non league Altrincham FC, but in the past fans of the Reds haven't been happy with him taking charge of matches against Manchester City and Manchester United.

However, last season it was Jurgen Klopp's side who benefited from his decisions against City, as they were lucky not to have two players sent off.

It's almost as if he's not actually biased against anyone in particular...
