IShowSpeed's reaction to Karim Benzema winning the Ballon d'Or was priceless

IShowSpeed's reaction to Karim Benzema winning the Ballon d'Or was priceless

He was convinced Cristiano Ronaldo should have won his sixth Ballon d'Or trophy on Monday night.

TikTok and YouTube sensation IShowSpeed was in disbelief after finding out that Cristiano Ronaldo had missed out on his sixth Ballon d'Or.

The 17-year-old American content creator, who has 12.1 million subscribers on YouTube, is well-known for live-streaming games and general day-to-day life on his social media platforms.

And on Monday night, he reacted to Karim Benzema's Ballon d'Or win on a live stream.

As he often does, Speed looked up the news on Google and to his surprise, Benzema had scooped the individual prize ahead of former teammate Ronaldo. "Oh my days bro," he says. "I'm about to get so mad."

Speed, real name Darren Watkins, is very vocal when it comes to supporting Cristiano Ronaldo. This month, he has posted about the Manchester United forward on numerous occasions.

After he failed to find the net against Omonia Nicosia in the Europa League on October 6, he tweeted: "Why is Ronaldo so unlucky this year, i hate it, it make me wanna suck."

He did, however, go on to produce his best performance of the season during United's 2-1 victory over Everton after replacing an injured Anthony Martial in the first half.

Three days later, after Ronaldo was left on the bench for their Premier League clash against Everton, he mentioned him again.

Speed wrote: "My gf and I went to the park and were walking so she got tired and told me 'let's Ronaldo'. I understood immediately what she meant. So we sat down on the bench."

Then on Sunday night, ahead of this year's Ballon d'Or ceremony in Paris, the American streamer poured his heart out on social media.

"I have no girlfriend, friends, family all i do is stream," he said. "I have officially decided to dedicate my life to defending Cristian Ronaldo. My one and only goal is to make sure everyone calls him the GOAT. I don’t care about my personal life as long as Ronaldo is known as the GOAT."

For his incredibly high standards, it has been a tough start to the season for Ronaldo, and things didn't get much better on Monday night.

For the first time since 2006, he finished outside of the top 10 in the Ballon d'Or rankings.

The 37-year-old, who scored 31 goals in 48 appearances in all competitions last season, finished ahead of Harry Kane, Bernardo Silva and Darwin Nunez in this year's awards.

He also pipped Phil Foden, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joshua Kimmich in the standings, but Portugal's all-time top goalscorer will be far from satisfied with 20th place after a respectable campaign for Manchester United.

After re-signing for United in August last year, Ronaldo went on to score 18 goals in 30 Premier League games last season. He also netted six goals in seven Champions League appearances for the Reds.
