Sancho returned to English football in a £73 million move from Borussia Dortmund in the summer but struggled in his early months at Old Trafford.
The 21-year-old didn't open his account until November against Villarreal and was not providing the skill and dynamism many tipped him to bring to the United attack.
But he's been much improved in recent times under Ralf Rangnick and at Elland Road, Sancho looked a lot closer to the tricky and productive winger who made the Bundesliga his playground.
Jokes were funny but Jadon Sancho is here— Lyés (@WholeLottaLyes) February 20, 2022
Sancho was named Man of the Match by Sky Sports after shining on a waterlogged pitch that looked on par with what you are used to seeing at your local playing field on a Sunday.
He came up clutch with two assists in the six-goal thriller, completed six dribbles, completed 21 passes in the final third and had seven touches in the Leeds box.
The former Manchester City youngster led in all the key stat departments and his incredible highlights have United fans thinking this was the moment their big-money summer signing rediscovered his mojo.

The Premier League is getting prepared for Jadon Sancho. It took a while but it’s coming.— Alex Shaw (@AlexShawESPN) February 20, 2022
Jadon Sancho balled out in the Roses Derby so it’s only right he gets his flowers. Two assists in a PL game for the first time, but that only tells half the story. More dribbles, passes in the final third, and touches in the opposing box than any other player. JS25’s loading. pic.twitter.com/Y1EkAzmXmu— VERSUS (@vsrsus) February 20, 2022
This is for those Man Utd 'fans' who wrote Jadon Sancho off after a few games.— UtdFaithfuls (@UtdFaithfuls) February 20, 2022
Sancho set up Bruno Fernandes' goal with a perfect pick-out from the right flank, allowing the Portuguese man a free header after a lightning quick counter attack involving Victor Lindelof.
That put United 2-0 up in stoppage time at the end of the first half but a sloppy start in the early moments after the break saw them concede two goals in two minutes.
But Sancho was at the heart of the goal that put United back in the lead. Substitute Fred made an instant impact, beating Illan Meslier at his near post after a nicely weighted pass from Sancho, who waited for the opening to arrive.
The England international would have had another assist had Anthony Elanga not spurned a clear one-on-one chance that Sancho created himself with a mazy run from deep.
Elanga did then make amends by wrapping up the win in the 88th minute.
Sancho's display was sumptuous and saw him receive praise from Robbie Keane, who has noticed a change in his game of late.
Speaking in the Sky Sports studio, Keane said: "He was brilliant today, Sancho. The last few weeks he’s been fantastic. "When he first came, every time he got the ball he was going backwards and playing simple passes.
"Now in the last four weeks I’ve seen him, when he gets it in 1v1 situations, he’s running at people, he’s nutmegging people.
"His numbers at Borussia Dortmund were incredible, he needs to do it now. He seems to be starting to deliver now with goals and assists."
