Newcastle United fans certain club are signing James Maddison after seeing his social media

Maddison has just come back from injury for Leicester City, but Newcastle fans don't think he'll be there too much longer.

Newcastle United fans are feeling pretty confident at their club signing James Maddison, after the Leicester City stars recent social media activity.

It's been a hell of a turnaround from Newcastle in the past year, going from being in a relegation fight to one for the Champions League places.

Eddie Howe's side are also just 90 minutes away from making a final of a major trophy for the first time since losing the FA Cup final in 1999, against Manchester United, after winning the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final.

In their attempts to boost their chances of finishing in the top four, Howe has added Anthony Gordon, from Everton, to his team this month.

However, their fans believe that the signings may not have ended, even though there's only just over 24 hours left of the transfer window.

Leicester City star Maddison was strongly linked to the Magpies last summer, with bids of £40 and £45 million rejected by Brendan Rodgers' side.

But now that the 26-year-old has changed his profile picture on Instagram, from a Leicester themed one to one in an England shirt, some supporters are convinced the move is going to happen before the window slams shuts, the only way it's allowed to close.

"Maddison has changed his profile pic from Vardy, their owner, Maddison and the FA Cup (in a Leicester kit) to him in an England kit," one fan noticed.

"Maddison is signing. You can feel it," a second added.

A third opined, "Profile pic changed ready for the Toon."

A fourth fan begged, "Need to see you in Newcastle in the next days, you would be a hero up here."

However, other fans were suggesting that the former Norwich City forward actually changed the photo after being called up to the World Cup squad.

He was a 'surprise' call up to the extended squad, after a huge groundswell of opinion called for the creative player to be included by Gareth Southgate.

Unfortunately for Maddison, he didn't play a single minute in Qatar, after picking up an injury in the Middle East, and only recently returned to action for the Foxes.
