James Milner Had To Drag Harvey Elliott Out Of Trouble Like An Angry Dad And It Was Hilarious

James Milner Had To Drag Harvey Elliott Out Of Trouble Like An Angry Dad And It Was Hilarious

Milner stepped in.

James Milner had to grab Harvey Elliott and walk him away like an angry parent during Liverpool's Carabao Cup final win over Chelsea.

Liverpool won their ninth League Cup after a tense 11-10 penalty shootout victory on Sunday and the game itself was a thrilling spectacle, despite ending 0-0 after 120 minutes.

Players were desperate to win this season's first silverware and tensions started to rise in extra time.

Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold came face to face with Kai Havertz down near the touchline and it saw Elliott come running over to push Havertz.

The Chelsea forward and Antonio Rudiger then turned their attention to 18-year-old Elliott, who was ready to go.

Milner, who is double the age of Elliott, grabbed the teenager and ushered him away as the melee continued.

That's what being a leader is. Great stuff from Milner.

Fans reacted to the incident and they thought Milner treated Elliott like he was his mischievous son.

One commented: "Idk whats funnier, Elliott pushing Havertz for no reason or Milner grabbing him and walking him away like an angry parent."

A second added: "Was about to say good from Milner to get Elliott out of that then he immediately turns around and he takes his place squaring up to Rudiger looool."

Someone put: "Love that from Milner getting Elliott away before he gets into trouble."

While another stated: "Milner trying to be Harvey Elliott’s dad."

Elliott suffered a horrific ankle injury against Leeds United back in September and many thought it'd be the end of his season.

He's managed to recover from that however and was part of the squad yesterday and scored in the shootout.

Elliott was originally set to miss out on the matchday squad but an injury to Thiago in the warm-up changed that.

Thiago was set to start alongside Fabinho and captain Jordan Henderson in midfield, but he had to pull out 10 minutes before kick-off.

Naby Keita started instead and Elliott took Thiago's place on the bench.

Sky cameras captured Thiago's emotional reaction to missing the game and he was consoled by Alisson.
