Chelsea fans attempt to troll Arsenal with new Joao Felix chant

Chelsea fans attempt to troll Arsenal with new Joao Felix chant

Felix was heavily linked with Arsenal and Manchester United ahead of his move to Chelsea, and they wanted to make the Gunners remember that.

Chelsea fans attempted to troll Arsenal over the fact that they'd signed Joao Felix, ahead of their rivals, but it didn't really end well.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Blues took their seasonal spending up to around the £400 million mark, by bringing Felix in on loan until the end of the season.

Graham Potter's side have been in need of a boost to their attack, despite bringing in Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang back in the summer.

They're by far the worst goalscorers in the top half of the league and there was hope that Felix could be the boost to that, as they attempt to save themselves from a dreadful start to the campaign.

The Atletico Madrid forward was being offered around before his eventual move to Chelsea, with Arsenal and Manchester United heavily linked.

With him moving to west London, fans decided to mock Arsenal over his choice, with their new chant, as you can hear below in the video.

"JOAO FELIX WOAAAAAH, JOAO FELIX WOAAAAH, HE COMES FROM PORTUGAL, HE HATES THE ARSENAL…" the fans can be heard singing.

Of course, it's not exactly the most original song to come from the stands, although at least they're not just repeating the name of their club over and over again.

It's likely that north London side were put off by the large loan fee that the Blues had to pay just to get the forward until the end of the season.

Chelsea are said to have spent £9 million on the fee, and are then paying his full wages until he goes back to the Wanda Metropolitano.

That already looked like a lot and then he managed to get himself sent off for a reckless challenge against Fulham on Thursday night.

The red card means he'll be missing for the next three matches and has boosted just how much the club are paying him per game to play.

The suspension means that he won't be seen in a Chelsea shirt for another month, with the club having been knocked out of the FA Cup by Manchester City last weekend.

He will miss games against Crystal Palace, Liverpool and Fulham, which isn't ideal considering the position the side currently find themselves in.

The loss to their local rivals on Thursday left them already 10 points behind fourth place Manchester United, who have a game in hand over the Blues too.

Arsenal will be less than bothered by the fact that they missed out on Felix, especially if he was going to get himself suspended for three games.

Mikel Arteta's side remain top of the Premier League, although they do still need reinforcements in attack in the January transfer window.

They are reportedly closing in on a deal for Ukraine forward Mykhailo Mudryk, which will soften the Felix blow even further.
