John Terry Gave Brutal Answer To Jamie Carragher Over Chelsea Question

John Terry Gave Brutal Answer To Jamie Carragher Over Chelsea Question

Terry was talking to Carragher about Roman Abramovich's attempts to bring Steven Gerrard to Chelsea and gave a very honest answer to Carra.

Jamie Carragher was once ended by John Terry's brutally honest answer to a question about the Liverpool legend moving to Chelsea.

Carragher was at his very best on Monday night, during Sky Sports' MNF coverage, when talking about Chelsea's current issues following Roman Abramovich's sanctions.

It's been suggested Manchester United should go for Thomas Tuchel, and other clubs will no doubt be circling in case any players can be signed on the cheap.

Speaking ahead of Manchester City's draw with Crystal Palace, Carragher said it was 'hypocritical' of the Blues to complain, seeing as they'd 'taken' players, managers and administrators from rivals at the beginning of Abramovich's era in 2003.

The Blues 'tapping up' of Steven Gerrard was one example and Terry, in a previous conversation confirmed that Abramovich had asked about Gerrard. Carragher asked if he'd ever been mentioned, and his fellow defender brutally answered.

"The owner [Roman Abramovich] would speak about certain individuals," Chelsea's former captain explained in 2017.

"Players like Stevie [Gerrard], he’d want to sign Stevie."

"Did he ask about me?" Carra asked.

"No, not you mate. Unfortunately not."

Whilst most of Carragher's examples were from the early years of the Russian billionaire's ownership, including Gerrard, Peter Kenyon and the failed attempt to get Sven Goran Eriksson as manager, the Sky pundit also went more modern.

The former Liverpool defender talked about the west London side's tactics of signing the best youth players over the years, and winning the FA Youth Cup.

"They win the FA Youth Cup every year or they get in the final, not because they have the best coaches or the best academy, because they basically go and take the best players from every club in this country and relocate the family and give the dad a scouting job.

"Chelsea Football Club have taken advantage of every other club in the last 20 years because of Roman Abramovich. So if I’ve got an opinion of someone taking advantage of them… that’s just a fact, it’s a way of life. And that’s the way it may be for Chelsea, they have to accept that."

Terry certainly hasn't been a fan of any sanctions against Chelsea, as he hit back at the MP who initially called for them, before it even happened.

He probably won't be a fan of what Carragher had to say on Monday, but he'll always have his brutal put down at least...
