Jose Mourinho Aims Dig At Ole Gunnar Solskjaer And Ralf Rangnick After Europa Conference League Win

Mourinho added yet another European trophy to his collection on Wednesday night.

Jose Mourinho has aimed a subtle dig at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick after winning the Europa Conference League with Roma. Watch the video below:

Mourinho became the first manager to win all three of UEFA's major club competitions on Wednesday night after Roma beat Feyenoord 1-0 in the inaugural Conference League final in Tirana.

It is the fifth European trophy of his career following his Champions League victories with Porto (2004) and Inter Milan (2010), and his Europa League wins with Porto (2003) and Manchester United (2017).

It was also Roma's maiden European trophy and their first piece of silverware since 2008.

When asked the assess the significant of the victory when compared to his previous European triumphs, Mourinho ranked it as a better achievement than winning the Europa League with United.

The Red Devils' victory over Ajax in 2017 remains the club's last trophy, with Solskjaer and Rangnick both unable to win silverware during their spells in charge at Old Trafford.

In his post-match press conference on Wednesday, Mourinho aimed a subtle dig at the pair – claiming it should be "natural" for United to win trophies.

"As you know I have won European competitions with four different clubs," said Mourinho.

"Winning with Manchester United even though it was a Manchester United side that lacked the quality of proper United sides, winning with Manchester United is almost natural.

"Winning the Champions League with Porto is not normal. Bringing joy to people winning the Champions League with Inter.

"Inter is naturally a huge club, but I think it was 50 years since they had won the Champions League and bringing joy to the fans.

"Today winning this competition brings joy to the people as well."

Mourinho famously claimed that guiding United to a second-place finish in the 2017-18 season was one of his greatest achievements in football.

Former Liverpool and Aston Villa striker Dean Saunders believes Mourinho has been proved right, and says he would appoint the Portuguese as manager over Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola if he owned a football club.

"Everything he said at Manchester United has come true," Saunders said on talkSPORT.

"He's going to go down as one of the best managers in the history of football."
