Damning footage shows why Jose Mourinho completely lost it with Roma defender Rick Karsdorp

Jose Mourinho left Rick Karsdorp out of his Roma squad for the clash with Torino and the Dutchman looks to have played his final game.

Damning footage shows just why Jose Mourinho has had enough of Rick Karsdorp after the Portuguese manager slammed his player and called him "unprofessional".

In an explosive post-match press conference following the 1-1 draw against Sassuolo on Wednesday, Mourinho laid into the Dutch defender.

He did not name Karsdorp specifically but said that the efforts of his team were "betrayed" by "one unprofessional player" and told him to find a new club.

“An unprofessional attitude that is not fair to his teammates, that is what disappoints me. A point away from home is still not a negative result and I am happy with the general attitude of my squad.

“I won't tell you [which player]. I had 16 players on the field tonight and I liked the attitude of 15 of them. In January, he needs to find himself another club.”

It was soon reported by Corriere Dello Sport that Karsdorp was the player in question and that has since been confirmed, with the former Feyenoord man left out of the squad for the draw with Torino on Sunday.

Karsdorp reacted with a "heartbroken" emoji on his Instagram story and reports state he has already left Rome.

And footage has emerged to give an indication for why Mourinho was so angry with Karsdorp. The 27-year-old came on as a substitute for Mehmet Zeki Celik at right wing-back in the 65th minute and looked disinterested from the moment he stepped onto the pitch.

He was extremely passive, rarely getting tight to his opponent. At one point, when he allowed a Sassuolo player to take a free shot, Bryan Cristante was spotted scolding Karsdorp.

Karsdorp was then caught out badly for the equalising goal when the ball was played down his side.

He looked like he was daydreaming and his hesitancy eventually led to Andrea Pinamonti notching home from a cut-back.

Johan Henkes, Karsdorp's agent, demanded an explanation from Roma over Mourinho's comments.

I’m surprised by Mourinho’s words, I want an explanation. We’re also surprised by the fact that everyone’s been pointing fingers at Rick despite neither Mourinho or Roma uttered his name,” Henkes told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“We want an explanation from the club about the coach’s words and the way he did it.”

Roma drew 1-1 for the second consecutive game on Sunday evening, with the match having a chaotic finale.

Mourinho collected another red card for comments he made to the referee late on, before Andrea Belotti missed a 92nd minute penalty against his former side.

Paulo Dybala hit the crossbar before Nemanja Matic snapped a late equaliser.

Karsdorp joined Roma in 2017 and has made 122 appearances for the Giallorossi.
