Roy Keane has recalled what Kenny Dalglish said to him after he rejected Blackburn Rovers for Manchester United.
Back in 1993, Keane left Nottingham Forest for United but he had verbally agreed to join Dalglish’s Blackburn.
In the end, a phone call with Sir Alex Ferguson lured Keane to Old Trafford which left Dalglish fuming.

Keane has now revealed what Dalglish said to him after he rejected a move to Blackburn. You can watch the footage below.
The Irishman said in the latest episode of The Overlap: “I was lucky to have one or two options. I did shake hands and I said: ‘Listen, I’ll come.’ I think the contract was basically agreed.
“I went back to Ireland and got a phone call from United. The mistake I made was saying I would sign. Obviously I have no regrets about signing for United.”

Keane continued: “Everyone thinks Kenny is a really nice guy. He phoned me and obviously word got out that I wasn’t going to Blackburn.
“He said: ‘Listen, I’m not happy. You shook hands. I said 'sorry Kenny and blah, blah, blah. Listen I’m going on my holiday tomorrow'. I was going to Ayia Napa.
“I swear he said: ‘I’m going to find you over there.’ Honestly, for the next two weeks, I’m in Ayia Napa and every bar I’m in I’m looking over my shoulder. I’m thinking he’s going to come in and get me!”
When asked what he would have done if he saw Keane, Dalglish said: “Well, just sign the form.”

In a previous interview, Keane explained how United lured him away from Blackburn.
He said: “He said: ‘Listen, would you come and meet me for talks tomorrow?’
“I said ‘Well I’ve shook hands with Blackburn’. He said ‘Don’t worry about that’ and I flew to Manchester on the Monday, met [assistant coach] Brian Kidd, Alex Ferguson, had a game of snooker with him, the usual small talk, they told me how great I was and I believed them.
“But the problem was they still hadn’t agreed a fee with Forest. Blackburn were giving me £400,000 a year and United were offering me £300,000 and I was on £250,000 at Forest so I was thinking it’s not a massive rise considering I was going to be a transfer record.”
