Some fans claim Emiliano Martinez did the right thing by "humbling" Kylian Mbappe after Argentina beat France in the World Cup final.
Despite Mbappe scoring a hat-trick past him - as well as his penalty in the shoot-out at the Lusail Stadium - Martinez has been going after the Paris Saint-Germain superstar.
Martinez asked for a "moment of silence" for Mbappe in the dressing room after helping Argentina to a third World Cup triumph.

That then led to Argentina fans burning a coffin with Mbappe's face on, in footage which went viral.

He then held a baby top with Mbappe's face on it at the wild open-top bus trophy parade in Buenos Aires. Lionel Messi, Mbappe's teammate, has been criticised for staying silent and not calling out the antics.
The Aston Villa goalkeeper has even been branded "the most hated man in football". But on the flipside, there are people that don't have much of a problem with Martinez's behaviour, as some feel as though Mbappe needed bringing down a peg.

In fact, some have referenced a spat he had with Jordi Alba in the Champions League back in February 2016.
In the absence of Neymar and Angel di Maria, Mbappe scored an incredible hat-trick in PSG's 4-1 trouncing of Barcelona at the Nou Camp and his confidence was on another level.
After an incident with Sergino Dest, who Mbappe told "don't touch me", Alba intervened. He told Mbappe he was arrogant and "getting too big for yourself".
In response, Mbappe, in perfect Spanish, said, "In the streets I'll kill you".

It happened when Barcelona were defending a PSG set-piece and the exchange was picked up by pitchside microphones.
The now-retired Gerard Pique also got involved and asked the France star, "Who are you going to Kill?". He got the same response.
France, meanwhile, have launched an official complaint over Martinez's brutal treatment of Mbappe.
Noel Le Graet, president of the French FA, has written a formal letter of complaint.

"I wrote to my counterpart from the Argentine Federation, I find these excesses abnormal, in the context of a sports competition, and I find it difficult to understand," he wrote.
"This is going too far. Mbappe's behaviour has been exemplary."
