Kylian Mbappe misses France training ahead of World Cup clash against England

Kylian Mbappe missed France training just four days before their big World Cup quarter-final clash against England.

The 23-year-old was not present as he's doing indoor recovery work after their win over Poland.

According to the French FA, he did not take part due to ongoing recovery work. But the other France stars who played in their last 16 win over Poland did take part in training, including Olivier Giroud, who scored against Poland.

Mbappe still has time to return to full fitness as France resume their World Cup campaign on Saturday.

He scored a stunning brace in his side's 3-1 win over Poland to book their spot in the last eight.

The Paris Saint-Germain phenom has scored an impressive five goals in four matches at the World Cup.

He's viewed as the biggest threat to England, with his searing speed, pace and finishing prowess.

Mbappe had complained of an ankle injury heading into the tournament, but that has not affected his performances in Qatar, having starred for France.

Rio Ferdinand hailed Mbappe's showing against Poland, calling it the 'most explosive performance' of the tournament.

On BBC, he said: "Yesterday, I spoke about Messi as the best performance. Today [Mbappe] was the most explosive performance, devastating in all areas.

"You sense he's toying with his opponents. He's that good, he's that quick, he's that explosive, he feels like he can go past anyone on that pitch. "There's no one who can stop me." That's the confidence.

"It makes it impossible for defenders. I just love being in the stadium watching players like this, and what they can do. It's interesting what Mauricio said, there's still improvement."
