Kylian Mbappe Officially Decides To Stay At PSG

Mbappe had offers from both his current team PSG and La Liga giants Real Madrid and he's finally decided where his future is.

Kylian Mbappe has decided to stay with Paris Saint-Germain, signing a new deal with the Ligue 1 side until 2025 after turning down the chance to sign for Real Madrid.

PSG announced on Saturday that Mbappe had committed his long-term future to the club, tweeting a video of the France international overlooking the Parc des Princes, alongside the caption: "Our history is written here. Ici c'est Paris."

Mbappe's previous deal at PSG was due to expire this summer and he'd long been expected to leave the French capital and instead sign for Real.

The Spanish side even offered PSG a huge transfer fee last summer, in order to avoid the possibility of him being persuaded to stay, or move to another club.

PSG turned it down and decided to try their hardest to get him to stay, although throughout the season it has looked increasingly unlikely, especially when Los Blancos knocked them out of the Champions League and he was given an ovation by Real fans.

However, in the past week it started to emerge that the 23-year-old would stay where he was, especially as was offered the chance to be in charge of the sporting project at the Parc des Princes.

Whilst the decision was always set to be announced on the weekend, more and more details of the deal began being leaked as the week went on.

First of all it was expected that he would sign for Real, before news of his stay in the French capital began being talked about, as the news seemed to swing one way and then the other.

Eventually on Saturday, all the news seemed to point towards a stay at the Parc des Princes, rather than the move to the Bernabeu.

Karim Benzema was clearly already in the know as to where his fellow countryman would be going, with fans pretty certain the Real striker's latest social media post was a message to the World Cup winner.

The news will come as a particularly huge blow to Real president Florentino Perez and his team, who were desperate to sign the former Monaco forward.

Real have already missed out on Erling Haaland in recent weeks, with the Norwegian's move to Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund already confirmed.

They can at least comfort themselves by knowing that they have the Champions League final with Liverpool to come next Saturday, a competition PSG haven't managed to win yet.

That will be the club, and Mbappe's, main target in the near future, and bringing Zinedine Zidane in as manager, as has been promised to their number one star, could help that,
