Kylian Mbappe's new PSG deal is the biggest EVER in the history of sport, he'll earn a staggering amount if he sees it out

Kylian Mbappe's new deal at Paris Saint-Germain is the biggest ever contract handed to a sports star, it has been claimed.

Mbappe turned down a highly-lucrative move to Real Madrid in the summer to instead sign a new three-year deal at the Parc des Princes, ending the speculation over his future – at least for a few months.

Reports in France claim the 23-year-old is now unhappy at PSG just months after signing his new deal.

It has led to speculation that the France international could leave the Ligue 1 leaders, with Madrid and Liverpool touted as possible destinations for the striker.

However, it is unlikely that Mbappe would be able to find a club willing to match his current salary at PSG.

According to Le Parisien via Get French Football News, Mbappe became the highest-paid player in the history of sport after signing his new deal at PSG.

It is claimed that Mbappe will earn a staggering €630m (£546m) if he remains at PSG for the entirety of his three-year contract.

Mbappe will earn the money in gross salary, with his contract including several clauses but no performance-related bonuses such as for Champions League or Ballon d'Or wins.

His deal is said to have included a €180m (£156m) signing-on bonus, payable over three years that will be paid in full even if the player leaves before the end of his contract.

It also includes a €70m (£61m) loyalty bonus to be received at the end of the season that will increase by another €10m (£8.7m) every year he remains at the club.

The report claims his contract also includes the option of an extra two years that can be triggered only by the player himself.

Meanwhile, his standard monthly salary is believed to be more than €6m (£5.2m).

It is claimed that Mbappe's total salary, including bonuses, takes up a quarter of PSG's entire budget.

However, despite his financial incentives to remain at PSG, Mbappe is said to be intent on leaving Paris after feeling "betrayed" by the club – believing they failed to deliver on promises made to him when he signed his new deal.

Spanish publication Marca claimed earlier this month that there is "no turning back" for Mbappe and that PSG have agreed to "collaborate" with the player over an exit.

But it remains to be seen whether any club in European football could afford to table a serious offer for the France international, let alone afford his astronomical wages.
