Chelsea legend Eden Hazard 'receives offer' from mystery Scottish club

This came out of nowhere.

Chelsea legend Eden Hazard has received a 'mystery offer' from Scotland, according to reports.

The 32-year-old has been a free agent since having his Real Madrid contract terminated in June following a tumultuous four-year spell at the Bernabeu where he never really got off the ground.

The Belgium international played just 76 games for Los Blancos during that period, chipping in with seven goals in a move that is generally considered to have stunted an otherwise brilliant career.

Hazard has reportedly to have received offers from the United States, England, Spain, France and Saudi Arabia, with the latest proposal from Scotland.

That's according to Spanish outlet AS, who claim that the former Lille winger is the subject of interest from an unnamed Scottish side.

Their report does not specify whether the offer came from Scottish Premiership giants Rangers, Celtic or another club entirely.

He has also been rumoured with an emotional return to Lille, over a decade since he helped them them win the league and cup double in 2011. While a recent visit to Stamford Bridge added fuel to speculation that he could return to the Blues.

Crystal Place were also said to be plotting a shock move for the star, following Wilfried Zaha's move to Galatasaray. But Hazard may have a dream move already lined up after allegedly rejecting six moves already this summer.

Indeed, he may choose to hang up his boots, with doubts over whether he has the energy to continue at the top level.

Should he decide to retire, Hazard will go down as one of the Premier League's greatest ever players and a cult hero among Chelsea supporters.

The Belgian magician inspired Chelsea to two league titles, an FA Cup, League Cup and two Europa Leagues during his seven-year reign in west London. He played 352 times for the Blues, scoring 110 goals.
