Laura Woods threatens to delete Twitter account after Man City dent Arsenal's title charge

Laura Woods threatens to delete Twitter account after Man City dent Arsenal's title charge

Laura Woods is a huge Arsenal fan

After Arsenal’s disappointing defeat against Manchester City on Wednesday night, Laura Wood has threatened to quit Twitter.

In the much anticipated top-of-the-table clash between City and Arsenal, Pep Guardiola’s men showed their mettle as they completely outclassed their opponents from start to finish.

A brace from Kevin De Bruyne plus goals from John Stones and Erling Haaland sealed a convincing 4-1 victory. Rob Holding for the scorer for the Gunners.

On Thursday morning, Woods took to Twitter to joke that she wants to quit the social media platform.

She wrote: “*How to delete Twitter*. (Morning x).”

Woods’ tweet attracted a fair amount of reaction.

Former boxer Curtis Woodhouse joked: “Everything ok hun? Inbox me.” Woods replied: “Things haven’t got that bad yet mate.”

Woods was then mocked live on talkSPORT by her colleagues Jamie O’Hara and Jason Cundy.

Fake laughter was being played in the background as Woods joined the show via phone.

O’Hara and Cundy said to their producer: “Terrible stuff, you said you were going to be nice to her!”

Woods then said: “It’s the hope that kills you. A few minutes in it was over and they just passed it around.

“We’re not even in this, we’re not even participants in the game. I was gutted.”

Cundy then added: “They’ve been left vulnerable and City are like a lion, there’s an impala with a bad leg.

“They come and get it round the neck and, ‘chomp’, it’s over.”

On the back of the defeat by City, Arsenal’s lead at the top of the Premier League table has been narrowed to just two points.

With two games in hand, City are now firmly back in the driving seat as they look to win their third consecutive league title.

Arsenal will take on Chelsea next Tuesday whilst City are up against Fulham on Sunday.
