Leeds fans set off fireworks outside of the Tottenham team's hotel in the early hours of Sunday morning ahead of their Premier League crunch match.

Eighth-placed Tottenham travel to Elland Road on Sunday afternoon to face a Leeds side needing three points to stand any chance of Premier League survival.

Sam Allardyce has been tasked with the almighty job of keeping the Peacocks in the top-flight, but is yet to win a game since taking charge earlier this month.

Meanwhile, Tottenham have endured a tumultuous campaign and are currently one point adrift of the European places, with interim boss Ryan Mason struggling to steady the ship.

Club chairman Daniel Levy is on the hunt for a new manager following the acrimonious departure of Antonio Conte.

Feyenoord head coach Arne Slot had emerged as a potential successor, but the Dutchman recently snubbed the north London side, as things go from bad to worse for supporters.

But with the stakes higher than ever, Leeds fans have done their utmost to interfere with Tottenham's preparations as they hope to gain a much-needed edge.

EuroFoot posted footage of fireworks being set off at about 3:30am outside the teams' hotel in an attempt to disturb the players' sleep.

It is not the first time supporters have used such a tactic, with Liverpool fans setting off their very own display outside Real Madrid's hotel back in February when the pair were due to play in the Champions League round of 16.

However, Leeds fans will be hoping for a different outcome to the Reds, who were swept aside 5-2 at Anfield by Los Blancos, with the fireworks seemingly spurring Madrid on.

Fans have taken to Twitter to react to the video.

One user wrote: "This usually doesn't end well".

Another agreed, stating: "Has the team having fireworks against them ever actually lost? If anything, it’s given Spurs a reason to actually beat Leeds now".

A third added: "Tottenham players play like they are half asleep anyway".

While a fourth took aim at Leeds supporters, writing: "All this just to get relegated".

The game kicks off at 4:30pm at Elland Road, along with every other Premier League fixture, meaning the players could probably afford a lie in.
