Kylian Mbappe could 'pay' PSG to secure Real Madrid transfer even though he can leave for free

Kylian Mbappe could 'pay' PSG to secure Real Madrid transfer even though he can leave for free

Kylian Mbappe looks set to finally leave Paris Saint-Germain for Real Madrid, on a free transfer.

Kylian Mbappe could pay Paris Saint-Germain to secure his dream transfer to Real Madrid, a new report claims.

Mbappe has told PSG's top brass that he wishes to end his seven-year stint with the club this summer.

The news broke on Thursday night and has since been followed up with a slew of updates on Mbappe's situation.

Everything points towards him finally joining Real on a free transfer, with Mbappe's deal expiring at the end of the season.

The terms of his exit are still being finalised but Loic Tanzi of L'Equipe claims

that there could be a very unique arrangement between the player and club.

Mbappe could end up paying PSG a portion of his signing-on fee from Real, effectively "pretending there was a bonus".

The 25-year-old is set for a hefty sum from Real and is expected to sign a contract for a minimum of five years - though he is not slated to be Los Blancos' top earner.

However, with PSG not getting a transfer fee for their talisman, it appears as though Mbappe is willing to give them something back in a thank you gesture of sorts.

PSG are expected to save around €200 million per year with Mbappe moving on and plan to replace him with a slew of players - with Rafael Leao, Bernardo Silva and Leny Yoro all mentioned.

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is also named as a top target.

Liverpool and Arsenal have both been linked and Gunners manager Mikel Arteta commented on the Mbappe news in his recent press conference.

"When there is a player of that calibre, we always have to be in that conversation," he told media ahead of Saturday's game Burnley.

"But it looks in a different way, that's what I would say."
