Lionel Messi: Twitter Thread Of The Best Reactions To PSG Star's Greatest Goals Goes Viral

Messi has captivated the football world for nearly two decades.

For nearly two decades, Lionel Messi has tormented opponents and captivated fans with his incredible talent and knack for scoring spectacular goals.

While Messi may not have enjoyed the greatest of seasons with PSG, at least by his high standards, he remains one of the most feared players in world football – even at the age of 34.

Arguably the greatest player in the history of football, the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner has scored some of the most memorable goals the sport has ever seen.

Whether it is his super solo effort against Athletic Bilbao, his ferocious free-kick against Liverpool or his legendary goal against Getafe, every football fan has a favourite Messi moment.

It is not just football supporters that have been left speechless by the former Barcelona star. His teammates, opponents and former pros have often been left in awe by the Argentine's brilliance.

Fortunately for us, many of their reactions have been caught on camera down the years and the best of those have now been compiled in a brilliant Twitter thread by user @Barcaeleven_.

The thread, which includes reactions from the likes of Pep Guardiola, Thierry Henry, Gary Lineker and Rio Ferdinand, has now amassed more than 2,000 likes on Twitter. Take a look for yourself below.

Messi has always commanded the ultimate respect from his fellow professionals.

"For me to watch Messi is a pleasure – it's like having an orgasm – it's an incredible pleasure," former Barcelona and Real Madrid star Luis Figo once said.

"What Leo does is so incredible that I have to be careful not to stand still watching him make his moves," admitted his former Barca teammate Thierry Henry.

Meanwhile, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola - who managed Messi for a number of years at Barcelona - possibly summed it up the best.

"Don't write about him, don't try to describe him, just watch him."
