Incredible video comparing Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe at 23 years of age shows there’s levels between the pair

Messi and Mbappe are two of the best players in the world.

A video comparing Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe at 23 years of age has emerged and it is incredible.

Paris Saint Germain star duo Messi and Mbappe are two of the finest football players in the world, but the two are at a different stage of their respective careers.

Messi, at 35 years old is coming towards the end of his stellar career. Whilst Mbappe, 23, is just getting started.

Many fans believe that the Frenchman will be the one taking over as the world’s best player when the likes of Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo decide to hang up their boots.

Mbappe often gets compared with the Argentina legend due to his pure pace and trickery on the ball.

However, a video has emerged showing both players at 23 years old and Messi’s achievements at that stage were already levels about Mbappe’s. The video was titled "Mbappé is GOOD but Messi was already the GOAT at 23."

When Messi was 23, he was already a star at Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona, and had already scored more than 186 goals for club and country and is already considered as one of the best players of all time.

He had already got his hands on four La Liga titles, and had won three Champions League titles, including a stunning performance against Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United side in the 2011 final.

Individually, Messi had already won three Ballon d’Or awards at that age. Mbappe is yet to get his hands on the most prestigious award in the world of football.

There is no doubt that the French super star is on the way to becoming the world’s best player, but he for sure has a lot of work to do if he is to have a similar career that Messi has had.

Even now at 35, Messi still manages to wow fans every time he steps foot on a football pitch.

Ahead of this year’s Ballon d’Or award, Mbappe picked his top three last month. Such a confident player that he is, he included himself in his choices.

He told L’Equipe: “My top three? I would say Benzema, myself, and Mané. I would say that this year is a success for Benzema

“He’s 34 years old, has just had the season of his life, has won another Champions League and is often decisive.”

Mbappe continued: “I want to win the Ballon d’Or very soon. Like many. Except that there are perhaps not many who dare to admit it. I’m still convinced that the hardest thing is to win the first.

“I think that my 18-21 year old period allowed me to stabilise in the Top 10. I wasn’t an impactful enough player.

“For the last two years, I think I have reached a new level, I have a more assertive status on the pitch, I am doing better in the decisive matches. In short, I am a more credible and serious candidate.”
