"Help me..." - Liverpool target speaks about potential summer move with contract expiring soon

France midfielder Adrien Rabiot admitted he is not sure where he will be playing his football next term, amid Liverpool interest.

Partnered alongside Aurélien Tchouaméni in midfield, the 27-year-old starred as France overcame an early scare to beat Australia 4-1 in their World Cup opener.

Rabiot scored only his third international goal, to level the game with a well-placed header in the first half.

The Juventus star then registered an assist - he ran onto a Kylian Mbappe backheel and cut the ball into the box for Olivier Giroud to put France ahead. In turn, Rabiot became the first France player to register a goal and an assist in a World Cup debut since Christophe Dugarry against South Africa in June 1998.

While he has started the World Cup in fine form, the midfielder’s future in Turin remains uncertain.

Rabiot’s Liverpool links

Rabiot has been linked with the Reds since 2018, and last month rumours began to circulate once more suggesting that the France star may be interested in a move to Anfield.

With Rabiot’s Juventus deal set to expire in the summer, the player admitted he was uncertain about where he would be playing next term.

Discussing his future with La Repubblica, the Frenchman said: “I don’t know my future, I don’t know if I’m going to stay at Juventus… it’s not time to discuss it.

“For sure, the latest performances help me go elsewhere or talk about a new deal with Juventus.”

Massimiliano Allegri convinced the Frenchman to stay at Juventus last summer, with the 27-year-old having been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool's rivals Manchester United.

While The Old Lady have been in calamitous form this season, Rabiot is having one of his most productive periods to date, having scored five goals and two assists for Juventus across all competitions.

Liverpool are in desperate need of Midfield reinforcements with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner and Naby Keita all of contract at the end of the season.
