Dominik Szoboszlai has already given green light to Liverpool transfer with 'special' Jurgen Klopp praise

Szoboszlai is the latest name to be linked with a move to Anfield.

Liverpool target Dominik Szoboszlai previously admitted it would be a "special experience" to work under Jurgen Klopp.

Szoboszlai is the latest midfielder to be linked with a move to Anfield, as Jurgen Klopp continues his summer rebuild.

The Reds are "exploring a move for the 22-year-old RB Leipzig midfielder", according to David Ornstein of The Athletic.

The report adds that Liverpool have met with the player's representatives this week to discuss a potential move.

Szoboszlai has a €70million (£60.5m) release clause attached to his contract, with confusion surrounding its expiry. But either way, the Hungary international isn't expected to come cheap.

Any potential deal is could prove complicated, however, in a boost to their transfer hopes, Szoboszlai has expressed his desire to work with the Liverpool boss.

What did Szoboszlai say about Klopp?

Szoboszlai would relish the opportunity to play under Klopp, following his previous comments.

Speaking to Index, he said: “It would certainly be a special experience to work under Klopp,” Szoboszlai tells Index.

“As it would be under (Manchester City boss Pep) Guardiola or (Roma’s) Jose Mourinho.

“I don’t know what they would be able to get out of me. Relatively few footballers are given all this (opportunity), however.

"Only the best. I believe I can reach that level, and it would be great to work with any of them one day.”

Szoboszlai has established himself as a key player for Leipzig, making 48 appearances during the 2022-23 season, notching 10 goals. While he has also made 32 caps for his country.

He is said to be "high in Liverpool's thinking" amid interest in the likes of both Khephren Thuram and Romeo Lavia.

Should Szoboszlai make the switch to Merseyside, he could become Klopp's second signing of the summer following Alexis Mac Allister's move from Brighton & Hove Albion, which is set to be announced on July 1.
