Liverpool fans think Jurgen Klopp is disrespecting Fabio Carvalho after 'insulting' amount of game time vs Real Madrid

Liverpool fans think Jurgen Klopp is disrespecting Fabio Carvalho after 'insulting' amount of game time vs Real Madrid

Fabio Carvalho joined Liverpool in the summer

Liverpool fans can’t quite believe how little time Jurgen Klopp gave youngster Fabio Carvalho against Real Madrid.

On Wednesday night, it was go big or go home for Liverpool as they arrived at the Bernabeu looking to overturn a 5-2 deficit against Madrid.

However, they produced a dismal performance as they were lacking in every department from back to front. Karim Benzema’s 78th-minute strike sealed a 1-0 win for the Spanish club, winning 6-2 on aggregate.

With Liverpool chasing the game, Klopp looked towards his bench in order to change the game and inject some much-needed urgency.

The Liverpool boss brought on Harvey Elliott and Roberto Firmino in the 57th minute, later bringing on Alex Oxlade Chamberlain with 15 minutes to go.

However, Klopp surprised many when he decided to bring on Kostas Tsimikas and Carvalho on deep into stoppage time.

Fans were not happy with how little time Klopp gave Carvalho.

One said: “Nahhh Klopp is actually a menace for doing this to him, especially a youngster. Just NINE seconds?”

Another tweeted: “What did Fabio Carvalho do to Jurgen Klopp?”

A third fan added: “Klopp’s treatment of Fabio Carvalho has been utterly pathetic. Completely ruining the kid’s confidence.”

Someone else wrote: “He brought on Ox, who we know is leaving, for 15 minutes, yet gives Carvalho, who is supposed to be the future of this club 10 seconds? Played out of position, left out of squads and now this. The way Klopp has used him this season has been disgraceful.”

Whilst a fifth commented: “Fabio Carvalho has the potential to be one of our best players dunno why Jurgen Klopp doesn't rate him.”

Since joining the club, Carvalho found himself on the fringes of the starting eleven and even started the Merseyside derby. The 20-year-old scored his first Premier League goal for the club during the 9-0 win over Bournemouth.

However, in recent months, Carvalho has been missing from the majority of the matchday squads.
