Fans are all saying the same thing about Darwin Nunez’s performance against Leicester

Darwin Nunez was a big-money signing for Liverpool in the summer

Fans have all been saying the same thing about Darwin Nunez’s performance in Liverpool’s Premier League clash against Leicester City.

Nunez was signed in the summer in a deal worth potentially £85 million from Portuguese side Benfica. Since his arrival, it hasn’t been an easy start to life as a Liverpool player.

The Uruguayan was sent off on his Anfield debut for a headbutt, but also showed flashes of brilliance as he currently has nine goals in 20 appearances.

Nunez started up front for Liverpool’s match against Leicester on Friday evening and he didn’t disappoint once again.

The 23-year-old was at his chaotic best as he was everywhere, from defending corners in his own penalty box to creating chances in the opposition's final third.

However, Liverpool fans have all been bemoaning over Nunez’s lack of calmness in front of the goal.

On multiple occasions, Nunez failed to pick the right pass or the right shot. He squandered numerous chances that the likes of Mo Salah, Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino would have probably scored.

One fan said: “Nah. Darwin Nunez really has like zero technique in this LFC side. Watching him attempt to take a chance is almost gruelling.”

Another tweeted: “Darwin Nunez has everything except finishing, if u finish better, u are the goat bro.”

A third fan added: “I got no doubt Darwin Nunez will turn it around. The finishing will get better and he continually gets into great positions and causes havoc with his physicality.”

Someone else wrote: “Darwin Nunez’s finishing needs so much refining. He misses so many good chances every game.”

At just 23, Nunez for sure has time on his side and working with the likes of Salah and Jota will definitely help.

After their 2-1 victory over Leicester, Liverpool will now gear up for a trip to the Gtech Community Stadium as they face Brentford on Monday.
