"Dream to play for Liverpool" - Deadly striker wants to join Jurgen Klopp's side

"Dream to play for Liverpool" - Deadly striker wants to join Jurgen Klopp's side

Danish striker Casper Tengstedt has revealed that his dream is to move to Liverpool

Danish striker Casper Tengstedt has revealed that his dream is to move to Liverpool in the future.

Tengstedt currently plays for Norwegian side Rosenborg FK, after securing a move from Danish Superliga side Horsens in the summer.

The forward netted 15 goals in 29 appearances last season for his former club, and has started the new campaign in electric form, scoring eight times in his first seven games for Rosenborg.

The 22-year-old has recently broken into the Denmark under-21s squad, and has an outside chance of making the senior squad for the World Cup this winter in Qatar if his form continues.

Although breaking into his national team is an aspiration of his, the former Midtjylland man has revealed that he dreams of a move to Anfield.

Speaking to TV 2 Sport, he said: “My dream is to one day play at Liverpool. Of course, you have to be allowed to dream."

"But otherwise, I don’t have a career plan that says I want to go to Spain or Germany. I have not. I try to take it as it comes. I try to follow my gut feeling, just like when Rosenborg approached."

“When I came to Rosenborg, there were journalists waiting when you arrived, and I wasn’t used to that at Horsens."

"Both before and after matches, there is also a greater focus on you, so it has been a bit of an upheaval, but I think it has been positive and it has gone well so far.”

Tengstedt has been praised for his movement, finishing ability and versatility, having operated out wide as well as down the middle.

He’s represented Denmark at under-17 and under-19 level, as well as now featuring for the under-21 side, and he is thus creating a profile that may lead him to a career in Europe’s top five leagues.

If the former Nurnberg man continues his impressive early season form, maybe Liverpool will come knocking. The Reds have recently splashed out on a new striker in Darwin Nunez, who arrived in the summer from Benfica for £85 million.

Nunez has struggled to make a substantial impact as of yet, and if this continues then perhaps Jurgen Klopp will be in the market for further reinforcements in this area in the January transfer window.
