'Responsible for all of this' - Jurgen Klopp reveals who is to blame for Liverpool 'crisis'

Jurgen Klopp revealed who was to blame.

Jurgen Klopp revealed who was to blame for Liverpool’s dire form.

The Reds have endured a terrible season. They are currently tenth in the Premier League table, 11 points adrift of the Champions League spots and 22 points behind table toppers Arsenal.

Meanwhile, the club are out of both domestic cups and have an unfavourable last-16 Champions League draw with Real Madrid in a repeat of last season’s final.

However the Anfield club's form in recent weeks has been particularly poor. Klopp’s side take on Everton in Monday’s Merseyside Derby having yet to taste a Premier League victory in 2023.

Indeed, their last top-flight win came against Leicester on December 30.

Furthermore, Liverpool have picked up just one point in the last four games, conceding nine in the process and netting just twice.

And Reds boss Klopp has revealed who is to blame for such a dismal set of results.

Jurgen Klopp on Liverpool crisis

Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of the Merseyside Derby, Klopp admitted he should take the brunt of the criticism for Liverpool’s season.

When asked if Liverpool were in crisis, Klopp said: "Of course we are, we don't hide from that. You have to get out of it and that is what we are doing.

"You can criticise everything that is right but don't go for the wrong people, that makes no sense. I am responsible for all of this, if you want to criticise, criticise me.

"That is how it is, and I have no problem with that.”

The German was then asked if Liverpool players were physically and mentally spent from a gruelling 2021/22 season, to which he replied: "I don't know 100% but we know it was influential but again from our point of view if you suffer from something, you can keep on suffering or you can fight out of it."
