Liverpool loanee goalkeeper Marcelo Pitaluga has been praised by his new club Macclesfield for another outstanding performance in pre-season.
Playing in the Northern Premier League Division One West, step eight of the English football pyramid, Pitaluga has impressed fans and fellow players with his substantial ability.
Aged just 18, he has already picked up two man of the match awards so far during his stint out on loan.

After signing for Liverpool for £1.8m from Fluminense in 2020, Pitaluga may not have expected to be playing at such a lowly standard as seen at Moss Rose.
But as seen with loan moves for Jakub Orjynski to Caernarfon Town, and Vitezslav Jaros to St Patrick’s Athletic, goalkeepers can truly benefit with confidence and game time whatever level they play at.
Macclesfield coasted to a 4-0 win over National North outfit York City this weekend, with the Brazilian youngster picking up significant praise, including from the club’s official Twitter account.

The Silkmen were a mainstay in the football league before liquidating as Macclesfield Town in 2019.
Local businessman Robert Smethurst purchased all assets and appointed former Premier League footballer and pundit Robbie Savage as Sporting Director.
In October 2020 it was announced that the club would return to action at step nine in the 2021/22 season, with Danny Whitaker’s men coasting to their first promotion.
They were the first club across all the top nine tiers to guarantee a promotion.

Pitaluga is playing alongside some familiar names, with several former Premier League players in their ranks.
Neil Danns featured for several decades up and down the leagues, and has become a stalwart for the Silkmen.
He scored 21 goals in 31 matches last campaign.
Zeki Fryers played in the top tier as recently as 2017 for Crystal Palace, but quickly fell down the levels since.

It will be a great place for Pitaluga to learn his trade, which should see him return to the Reds a stronger player in 2023.
