Fabinho's wife sends defiant message to Liverpool fans after Real Madrid humiliation

Fabinho's wife speaks out after the Real Madrid defeat.

Liverpool midfielder Fabinho's wife has sent a defiant message to fans following their humiliating defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Despite taking a 2-0 lead, the Reds were beaten 5-2 by holders Madrid which sees their hopes of winning a trophy this season fade even further.

Fans and former players alike blasted Liverpool's performance defensively as they conceded five for the first time at home in the competition.

However, some were remaining optimistic including the wife of midfielder Fabinho who posted a message on social media after the game had finished.

She said: "So beautiful to see TRUE fans singing YNWA!!! #ynwa walk on walk with hope in your heart and you’ll never walk alone LIVERPOOL LIVERPOOL!!!!!"

Jurgen Klopp's side have had a nightmare campaign so far and many were hoping the Champions League would be a chance to salvage things but they now face a near impossible task when they visit Madrid next month.

Fabinho is a shadow of his former self

Fabinho needs all the support he can get right now given the majority of the criticism this season has been aimed at Liverpool's midfield.

If you compare his performances from last season to this term then it's clear to see there has been a massive drop-off.

He hasn't scored in the league this season which is way off the five he netted in the last campaign.

Ultimately poor form saw him lose his place in the starting line-up prior to Thiago's injury with teenager Stefan Bajcetic preferred by Klopp.

Speaking in a press conference earlier this month about Fabinho's drop in form Klopp said: "He's not the happiest person on the planet.

“We don’t have arguments on the pitch or the training ground, not at all. He knows that he’s not flying and has to work his way back, that’s how it is.”

Liverpool's priority this summer is to bring in new midfield additions, with the owners continuing to back Klopp despite the defeat to Madrid.

At 29 years old Fabinho is in his prime but he will have to find form soon as there will be even more competition for places next season.
