"As of now..." - Romano drops update on Bundesliga star as 'Liverpool transfer clue spotted'

Fabrizio Romano gave an update on Ryan Gravenberch’s chances of signing for Liverpool before next Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

Fabrizio Romano gave an update on Ryan Gravenberch’s chances of signing for Liverpool before next Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

Liverpool, who are currently languishing in ninth place in the Premier League, have been keen to rejuvenate their ageing and underperforming midfield.

Indeed, the Reds have been linked with summer moves for some of the most sought-after talents in world football, including Jude Bellingham and Enzo Fernandez.

Meanwhile, Gravenberch, who only joined Bayern Munich from Ajax in a £20million deal last summer, is already being linked with a move away from Bavaria.

While the Netherlands international has featured 18 times in all competitions for Bayern this term, he has played just 221 minutes in the Bundesliga.

In turn, the 20-year-old has been tipped to go out on loan this January, with Liverpool one of the clubs linked.

Gravenberch to Liverpool?

Transfer guru Romano played down the prospect of Gravenberch signing for Jurgen Klopp’s side in January.

The Italian journalist insisted that Bayern has "no intention" of accepting a loan move for the player.

Romano tweeted: “Bayern have no intention to accept any loan proposal for Ryan Gravenberch in January, as of now. He’s considered an important player for the future.

“Many clubs asked for possible loan until June but no green light so far.”

Liverpool transfer clue

There had been speculation that Gravenberch may have been on the cusp of a Liverpool move, after the youngster’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, was spotted outside Anfield.

Pimenta posted an Instagram story of herself outside the Liverpool ground, before the Reds’ goalless Premier League draw with Chelsea last Saturday.

The picture led to speculation that the agent was on Merseyside to discuss a potential loan move for her client, Gravenberch.
