Liverpool could be forced to sign replacement for Caoimhin Kelleher who is now 'ready to leave'

He could be on his way out of Anfield.

Liverpool could be forced to sign a replacement for goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher this summer.

Jurgen Klopp has endured undoubtedly his worst season in charge at Anfield.

Their poor results has left the Reds boss with half an eye on the transfer window, as he plots a major overhaul this summer.

It is no secret that Klopp has made Jude Bellingham his priority transfer, as he seeks to refresh Liverpool's ageing midfield.

However, it looks as though they will have to sign a new goalkeeper too, with Kelleher set to move on for pastures new.

Kelleher ready to leave

Kelleher joined Liverpool in 2015, but has only managed 20 senior appearances for the club.

The 24-year-old played a major role in Liverpool's Carabao Cup run last season, scoring the winning penalty in a dramatic shootout against Chelsea in the final.

However, he has decided to call time on his career in Merseyside, with the Ireland international 'ready to leave', according to the Daily Mail.

Klopp previously labelled him "exceptional" and the world's best second-choice goalkeeper.

"Alisson is the best goalkeeper in the world, he is insane as a goalkeeper," Klopp said after the Carabao Cup final last season.

"But Caoimhin Kelleher is the best No 2 in the world, especially for the game we play."

Kelleher still has three years left on his current contract at Liverpool, putting the Reds in a strong negotiating position.

While they are thought to want £30 million for his services, and Klopp will not stand in his way should he want to leave, claim The Transfer Room.

Speaking about his future recently, Kelleher said: 'I'm not sure on what's happening yet. I'm still finishing this season and then we will have conversations after that to see what happens.

'Obviously, I need to play these few games and see what happens with these and maybe decide after that.'
