The value of Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool target Enzo Fernandez has increased by 1000 per cent in 2022, according to new data.

The value of Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool target Enzo Fernandez has increased by 1000 per cent in 2022, according to new data.

Fernandez has had an incredible career, which began at Argentine giants River Plate.

He then sealed a move to Benfica in the summer, where he has impressed onlookers during his 24 appearances for the club to date.

Nine of those games were in the Champions League, where Fernandez has netted twice and provided one assist.

His form was rewarded with a call-up to the Argentina squad for the World Cup, where the 21-year-old played in every knockout game and won the FIFA Young Player Award as he helped his nation to final glory.

He has been heavily linked with a big-money move in January to United, Chelsea or Liverpool, although new reports from the Daily Record claim that Benfica want to keep him at the club until the end of the season. That is because they are battling to win the Liga Portugal title, and are in the Champions League knockout stages.

But if they do sell one of their prized assets, he will no doubt fetch a huge amount of money.

Enzo Fernandez year-end value revealed

According to Transfermarkt, Fernandez is now worth €55 million in today's market, although he will likely move for a significantly higher fee. That is because talkSPORT claim Benfica have set their asking price at £105 million.

However, the fee represents a 1000 per cent increase on the value he held at the beginning of 2022, which stood at just €5 million.

Fernandez was recently asked about his future at Benfica, amid interest from Liverpool. But the midfielder does not want to think about speculation.

He said (quotes via Ge Globo): "I don't know anything about that. It's up to my agent. I don't want to get involved.

"I'm focused on Benfica, in a few days we have an important game. I have a flight at night to play in the game on Friday."

If Fernandez does play for his club side in their Liga Portugal clash against Braga, he will become one of the first World Cup finalists to return to club action.

Raphael Varane played 90 minutes in Manchester United's 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Tuesday.
