Liverpool ready to submit 'difficult to refuse' offer for Real Madrid star Federico Valverde

Liverpool ready to submit 'difficult to refuse' offer for Real Madrid star Federico Valverde

Jurgen Klopp is plotting a major overhaul to his midfield this summer.

Liverpool are plotting a shock bid for Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde, according to reports.

The 24-year-old is the latest name linked with a move to Anfield as Jurgen Klopp looks to continue his summer rebuild.

The Reds boss has already added Brighton's Alexis Mac Allister to his ranks, with the deal set to be announced on July 1.

While Nicolo Barella, Romeo Lavia, Khephren Thuram and Dominik Szoboszlai have all been rumoured with transfers to the Merseyside club.

But Klopp isn't finished there, having reportedly identified Valverde as his next target.

The Uruguayan has been a key figure behind Los Blancos' recent success, helping the Spanish giants win nine trophies since his breakthrough into the first team in 2019.

But now Liverpool are said to be lining up an offer that the La Liga side would find 'very difficult to refuse'.

Liverpool 'plotting' shock bid for Valverde

According to Spanish outlet El Nacional, Liverpool are ready to submit a whopping €90million (£77m) bid to Real Madrid for their star midfielder.

Valverde has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu following the recent arrival of Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.

Toni Kroos and Luka Modric have also both penned new contract extensions, creating a high level of competition within Madrid's midfield.

While Klopp will know all about the player from Liverpool's various encounters with Carlo Ancelotti's side in Europe, with Valverde memorably providing the assist for Vinicius Jr's goal to win the 2022 Champions League final.

The report adds that Madrid could find the Reds' offer "very difficult to refuse".

However, it would be a major surprise if the La Liga club allowed him to leave, particularly following his recent comments which suggested he was keen to stay in the Spanish capital.

Responding to transfer rumours last month, Valverde rubbished claims, stating (quotes via Liverpool Echo): “No, no. I’m at Madrid and I’m trying to enjoy every moment and leave my mark on the best club in the world."
