Marco Asensio has been consistently linked with a move to Liverpool all summer, and now he has been offered to Jurgen Klopp's side.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo (via Paisley Gates), who state Jorge Mendes has offered the Spaniard's services to a plethora of European clubs.

Those sides include AC Milan, Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool.

Asensio is said to be open to a move this transfer window with a view to gain more playing time ahead of the World Cup.

He wants to secure a starting birth under Luis Enrique for the Spanish national team, and he believes his chances of doing so will increase if he leaves Madrid.

The Spaniard’s links to Liverpool have been tentative, but Liverpool could be forced to formalise their interest after a poor start to the season.

The Reds already sit 4 points behind Manchester City and Arsenal after drawing the first two games of their Premier League campaign.

Creativity has only really flown through right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold so far this season so adding a playmaker to his ranks could be a wise move from Jürgen Klopp.

But it’s not just Asensio’s creative abilities which will attract Liverpool to him, but also his versatility.

Asensio is a player who has operated in a multitude of positions for Real Madrid over the years.

Not only can he play through the middle as a no. 10, but also as a wide player from both sides of the pitch.

Despite already possessing numerous players capable of playing on the wing, it wouldn’t hurt Liverpool to add one more to their pool of attacking players.

Amid concerns surrounding Darwin Nuñez after his sending off against Crystal Palace, signing Asensio could enable either one of Mo Salah or Luis Diaz to move to a central position and alleviate some of the pressure on Nuñez to play every week.

Links of a move for Marco Asensio to Liverpool do tend to lack credibility, but his services would be welcome at Anfield this season.

Real Madrid reportedly want £33m for the 26-year-old.
